A FINE ISFAHAN RUG, CENTRAL PERSIAThe ivory field with meandering palmette and leafy vine together with arabesques around large rust-red medallion with polychorme vases and floral motifs. Indigo arabesque spandrels. In soft light red border of floral cartouches, pamettes and angular floral vine between beige floral meander and reciprocl stripes, approx: 212cm. x 137cm. Very good type with very nicely drawn design and good colours. This rug has localized wear to the pile, down to knot collar in places. ends with kilim and fringes, slightly fraying. Selvages original also slightly fraying in few small places. All this reflects in an estimate. Fine weave, approx: 8 x 8 knots per sq.cm. In general this rug is in decent usable. Classic for this type.
