AN EXTREMELY FINE PART SILK NAIN RUG, CENTRAL PERSIAThe deep indigo field with scrolling floral and leafy vines together with palmettes and arabesque cartouches enclosing ivory and blue double floral and arabesque medallion with pendants. Linked and wide floral ivory spandrels. In soft light-beige border of interlocking floral and leafy vine between apricot, floral meander, small rosette and plain stripes, approx: 203cm. x 127cm. Very good example for this type. Very nicely drawn design and well balanced colours. This rug has full pile of very soft wool quality and part silk. Both ends and selvages original. Extremely fine weave 10 x 10 knots per sq.cm; woven on silk foundstion. In general this rug is in very good condition. Elegant and attractive piece.
