Late Ming Dynasty The flattened globular body rising from a short straight oval foot to a waisted gourd-shaped neck, set at the shoulder and upper neck with a pair of ruyi-handles, each main side slightly domed and with a central kui-dragon medallion encircled by six brightly enamelled stylised lotus flower heads borne on a foliate scroll on a rich turquoise ground. 32.4cm (12 3/4in) high. 注脚 明晚期 銅胎掐絲琺瑯纏枝蓮紋葫蘆扁瓶 The present moonflask is remarkable for its elegant form and high quality of cloisonné enamelling. See a closely related cloisonné enamel moonflask in the Pierre Uldry collection, dated to the second half of the 17th century, similarly decorated with lotus flowers but centred on a Trigram medallion, illustrated by H.Brinker and A.Lutz, Chinesisches Cloisonné: Die Sammlung Pierre Uldry, Zurich, 1984, no.188; and another related example decorated with rockwork and butterfly, published by H.Garner, Chinese and Japanese Cloisonne Enamels, London, 1962, pl. 54.
