A Chinese Famille Noire Teapot The baluster body rising from a hexagonal base, decorated in famille noire enamels of green, aubergine, iron-red, yellow and black, the body with six reticulated panels of the ‘Three Friends of Winter’, including prunus, pine and bamboo emerging from rockwork, each reserved on a black ground, set with a carp loop handle and curved animal-mask spout, a band of raised moulded lotus petals to the foot, the high shoulder with floral scrolls, the short straight neck with gilt ruyi heads and different diaper grounds, the reticulated cover modelled in the form of prunus branches, the base unglazed. Period: Kangxi (1662-1722). Height 15.5 cm.
