London, 1746, maker's mark of Edward Aldridge I. Accompanied by a written note on Dornaway Castle Forres Morayshire notepaper stating, "Enclosed please find candlestick. .....to Admiral Lord Rodney fir Red X... Sale Muray?". Total approx. weight is 9.04 troy oz (gross) excluding silverplate liner. From a New Rochelle, NY estate. Dimensions: candlestick measures approx. 4" diameter x 3.125" h.
