Persian manuscript on paper, 290 leaves, incomplete, 31 lines to the page written in naskhi script in black ink, significant sentences and words picked out in red, chapter headings written in large thuluth script in black, in brown leather binding with stamped central medallions incorporating stylized vegetal and floral motifs. 37 by 25 cm. CATALOGUE NOTE The text was composed at some point before 1110 AD, and is generally held to be the first major medical work written in Persian, drawing on the medical literature of the period, and combining the knowledge in one work for convenience.
