Ca. 32 × 24cm, metal case, very early verge movement with pillars, front pendulum, oversized dial with early 'perpetual calendar' and calendar of saints, above the dial the extraordinary moon phase display in the form of a rotating moon, single-handed, especially beautiful iron hand, tip and end brass, the end with representation of a city view with many towers. The second iron hand is the calendar hand with the extremely rare function, it makes only one revolution the whole year. All 365 days are inscribed with the corresponding saint's name. This type of calendar is known so far only from church clocks/ tower clocks from the 16th century, e.g. at St. Mary's Church in Rostock and from Strasbourg Cathedral, where the clock was made in the period 1547-1574. According to our research, no other 16th century wall clock with this astronomical function is known to date, a true museum rarity. According to the owner, the clock comes from the Augsburg area.
