拍品敞口，弧腹，圈足。碗内外施茄皮紫釉，足底内书“大清道光年制”六子篆书款。釉色均匀纯正，莹润光亮。茄皮紫是高温颜色釉品种之一，烧成于清康熙，造型均小巧秀丽。根据其呈色的深浅，又有淡茄、深茄之别。淡茄介于豇豆色、云豆色之间，如晚霞柔美，本品即为深茄色。
