The bosatsu holds a sceptre with both hands and sits with one leg pendant on a white elephant reclining on a dais painted with flowers and clouds in gold on a black ground. The figure, most probably of sandalwood, is left unpainted except for the patterns of its robes which are rendered in gold. The eyes of glass, the diadem and the necklace of gilt copper. The elephant with remains of white pigments, the mouth accentuated in red. The inside of the doors are painted with a lotus pond on a golden ground. The outside lacquered black with very large fittings of engraved and gilded copper, the locking bold missing. Flaking of the lacquer on the roof of the zushi.
