Circa 100 200 BC A pair of rectangular plaques, each with two suspension loops to reverse, comprising: plaited wire style border framing two standing camels, detailing to head, bodies, legs, and hooves; a sinuous tree between, its fruiting branches reaching to the edges of the frame; each with two mounting lugs to reverse. The "Ordos bronzes" consist mostly of highly decorated plaques which were delicately sewn in onto the garnments of the horse's bridles. The Ordos culture was a culture which persided in a region centred on the Ordos Loop, modern-day Inner Mongolia. Mounted on a custom-made display stand. Size: L:Set of 2; 50mm / W:100mm ; 350g.
