signed XIAOXUN,inscribed,and with one seal of the artist dated Jisi year（1929） inscribed by Song Wenzhi with one seal ink and color on paper, hanging scroll Xiao Qianzhong (1883-1944) was a native of Longshan Village, Yangqiao Town, Anqing City, Anhui Province. In his early years, he studied landscape painting from Jiang Yun and achieved remarkable results.In 1921, he returned to Beijing and extensively studied works of famous artists of all ages. He was deeply impressed by the essence of traditional art, especially in Shi Tao, Gong Xian and Mei Qing.
