A TIBETAN GILT BRONZE FIGURE OF KUBERA WITH BUDDHIST LION
Tibet, first half of the 20th century. The gilt bronze figure with fine chase work and inlays, depicting Kubera, the guardian protector of wealth and the North, seated in lalitasana on top of a Buddhist lion’s back, dressing in an elaborated robe, adorned with jewels and twisting snakes with a princely diadem on top of his head, holding a mongoose in his left hand and a gem in his other, surmounted on a single lotus plinth. The base sealed off with a copper plate showing an incised double vajra.
Condition: Good condition with surface wear and light scratches.
