Japan, Meiji period (1868-1912)
With fine polychrome enamels and copper wires, the rims decorated with either geometrical borders or florals sprays, the small dish portraying blossoming flowers and a butterfly, the smaller trays of an oval shape, showing three flying red-crowned cranes with Mount Fuji in the background, and the larger tray of rectangular form depicting a shishi lion.
