TWO GINBARI CLOISONNÉ VASES AND A CLOISONNÉ KORO (INCENSE BURNER)
Japan, Meiji period (1868-1912)
The two vases consisting of one of baluster- shape cloisonné vase and an eight-lobed cloisonné vase, both with a concave foot, short neck, and an everted rim, decorated with polychrome enamels and colorful ginbari, portraying a continuous design of swirls of copper wire, mon crests, and floral compositions. The rim and foot ring with geometric borders, applied with gilt copper. The tripod koro incense burner with an open-worked lid, decorated in the same design as the two vases.
HEIGHT 18 cm – 11.7 cm
Condition: Overall good condition with traces of wear and age, loss to the enamels. On the incense burner one larger area where the enamel has been damaged. The rims with wear and minor warping.
