AN INTERESTING CERAMIC AMPHORA FILLED WITH COINS
China, Song Dynasty (960 – 1279). Of cylindrical form rising from a flat base and molded with vertical ribs. The interior filled with antique coins, which are firmly merged with the soil inside the vessel and show a fine malachite patina.
Condition: With significant wear, signs of weathering, erosion, and tiny losses, overall good condition consistent with age.
Provenance: Ex-Collection of The Zelnik István Southeast Asian Gold Museum. Institutional art collection in Belgium, acquired from the above.
