A PAIR OF XUANTONG MARK AND PERIOD PORCELAIN BOWLS WITH COVERS China, Xuantong period (1909-1912)

The bowls and covers are decorated to the exterior with rich cobalt blue floral motifs and lotus scrolls as well as circular and fan-shaped reserves enclosing fine polychrome floral depictions. Hand painted iron-red four-character Xuantong reign mark to the underside of the bowls and to the top of the covers.

Condition: Very good condition with only little wear.
Provenance: Holzapfel collection, Geneva, Switzerland. This lot was acquired by a second-generation member of the Holzapfel family and has remained in the family ever since.
