A LARGE BARBED-RIM BLUE AND WHITE DISH
China, Qing Dynasty (1644-1912). The rounded sides rising from a recessed foot to an everted barbed rim. Painted in underglaze blue with a central medallion enclosing two confronting dragons amid clouds, with the magical pearl between them. The interior sides with flowering branches including peonies, lotus and cherry blossoms, the rim with alternating clouds and flaming pearls, the exterior with three further flaming pearls. The recessed base with an apocryphal Kangxi 6-character reign mark within a double circle.
Condition: Good condition with minor wear and surface scratches as well as few manufacturing flaws. The backside with a metal mounting for suspension on a wall.
Provenance: Hungarian private collection, according to the current owner acquired from a British private collection in 2000. Collector’s numbers painted in red to backside.
