AN UNUSUAL ROOT WOOD TORSO China, Qing Dynasty (1644-1912). The segmented fragment probably from a monk sculpture as indicated by the collar. The wood is of a golden-brown tone with dark fluid streaks and scattered ghost face striations, note the elegant luster and grain of the wood.

Condition: Good condition with minor wear and natural age cracks. With losses along the segmentation.
Provenance: German private collection, according to the current owner acquired at Bruun Rasmussen, with a Bruun Rasmussen label.
