A HORN FIGURE OF GUANYIN
China, Qing Dynasty (1644-1912). Guanyin carved leaning towards her right side, dressed in a long robe and holding a flower basket in her left hand and a flowering branch in her right. The horn of rich honey tones with deep orange highlights. The underside lacquered in black and inscribed with an apocryphal Xuande mark as well as with an old collector’s label ‘M. L von Callenberg’.
Condition: Excellent collection.
Provenance: By repute Ex property of the late Baroness Marie-Louise von Callenberg (1901-1982), Switzerland.
