China, Qing Dynasty (1644-1912). The folding pocket calendar of rectangular form, opening to display seven thinly cut ivory “pages” marked with the seven days of the week. The covers meticulously carved with groups of scholars among pagodas and blossom trees. With metal fittings.

Condition: Overall good condition with minor wear and remains of pencil inscriptions. Part of the metal clasp missing, and one page (Wednesday) broken.
Provenance: French private collection, by repute acquired at Drouot before 2008.
