Japan, Meiji period (1868-1912)
Both of circular form, painted in underglaze blue with a flowering branch above a stylized waterfront with swans. The backside with scrolling foliage and a maker´s mark.
DIAMETER 9.3 cm each
Condition: Two filled chips to rim with associated hairlines, otherwise good condition.
Provenance: Holzapfel collection, Geneva, Switzerland. This lot was acquired by a third-generation member of the Holzapfel family after 1995 and has remained in the family ever since.
