Japan, late 19th to early 20th century. late Edo (1615-1868) to Meiji period (1868-1912)
Painted in ink and color on silk, with a silk brocade frame, and mounted as a hanging scroll, the jiku (roller ends) carved from bone. Depicted are two carps swimming elegantly in the water, with a pine tree branch above them. Signature/inscription and seal in the lower right part of the painting. Comes with an associated fitted wood box.

Condition: Overall the painting presents very well with minor wear and a little creasing to the painting. The mounting with minor wear and soiling.
