A BASTAR BRONZE OF A GODDESS WITH A TRIDENT AND SCEPTRE
India, 19th-20th century. The straight standing goddess is holding a sceptre in the left hand and a trident in the right hand. From the shoulders surges a god saw brine that symbolises holiness and compares to a halo. The robe is exceptionally well detailed. The goddess is standing on a base that is decorated with thin fine lines.
Condition: The trident is missing a spike and the base has small hole by the figures left leg, otherwise in excellent condition.
Provenance: Collection of an Indian Gentleman.
