A BASTAR BRONZE HOUDAH ROOF
India, 19th-20th century. This is a roof of a houdah, which is a carriage positioned on the back of an elephant. On the side of the roof is decorated with several diamond shape ornaments. There are two Nags on the back and their tails surround the whole roof. In the middle is a roof top decoration with a standing peacock. Two equipped warrior horses are in the front.
Condition: Several diamond shape ornaments are missing. Good condition.
Provenance: Collection of an Indian gentleman.
