PROVENANCE: From Private estate collections of Jullias Phillips (1923 - 2017), Marietta, Georgia. When WWII started, Jullias worked at the Charleston Navy Yard helping build ships to protect our country and the world. They moved to Charleston, one of America oldest city with many historical building and antiques. Start from here, Jullias love to collect porcelains and many other antiques, and many year later they came back to Marietta, Georgia. Dimensions: 2-1/4" H x 14-3/8" Dia. Chinese Qing Dynasty Period, Famille rose story teller porcelain plate. Potted in shallow vessel form, thick and large, with broad wide central interior, rounded cavetto gently tapering to open wide, with straight open lip, raised with round shallow draft, slight concave base. The exterior hand painted ornamentations are rendered in clean white under glazed base color which contrast against translates to the pink family on a colored ground decoration, depicted story teller of princess with their servant beside the pavilion, man ride the buffalo and another in sampan boat thrashing lishui waves, enclosed with interlocking wanzi motief and auspicious ornament, all in vivid tones color. The colors are harmonious, balanced, elegant and exquisite, the composition is sophisticated, simply a feast for the eye. The porcelain displays a subtle sheen as the light ricochets across the finely glazed exterior. Mark on base, a six under glazed red seal script characters reign mark, Made in The Years of Jiaqing Reign Period of Great Qing Dynasty.
