PROVENANCE: From Private estate collections of David Frederick Boyd, of Marietta, Georgia (1935 - 2018). Served in the United States Army, thereafter, employed by a fortune 500 company and remained there for the rest of his working career. He is admired for Habitat for Humanity activist and a prominent antiques collector, mostly Chinese Antiques and European furniture at his large Victorian house in Georgia.Dimensions: 4-1/8" H x 5-5/8" Dia. The exterior decorated with hand-painting in clean white under glazed base color which contrast against the cobalt blue fine color, depicted of Chinese mythical beast above thrashing lishui waves, auspicious ornament and interlocking ruyi clouds. The clay is very fine, with a brilliant glaze finish that was applied by a meticulous, the shape is uniformly proportioned. Mark on base and uder lid, a six under glazed blue script characters reign mark, Made in The Years of Xuande Reign Period of Great Ming Dynasty.
