棒槌瓶因其瓶腹平缓甚适展示瓷画之美，盛行于清康熙时期。拍品造型俊美挺拔，形制规整。腹部以青花绘老子出关图，人物神情喜悦，体态生动。整器青花发色妍丽秀雅，渲染层次分明，勾勒清晰，为康熙青花“墨分五色”之典型，较为难得。 老子姓李，名耳，字伯阳，谥号聃，亦称老聃。曾任周朝史官，见周王室日衰，遂准备出函谷关云游四海。
