1914 Indian Head 5 Gold Half Eagle - This striking coin is a 1914 Indian Head 5 Gold Half Eagle. The coin was designed by Bela Lyon Pratt, and features sunken-relief designs which are unique to the Indian Head half and quarter eagles. The unique beauty, plex design and high demand distinguish the Indian Head Half Eagle from other gold coins, and these coins have proven themselves to be resilient through time and are now pieces of American history. The coin's obverse features a Native American chief while the reverse depicts the proud image of an American eagle, with a clter of arrows and an olive branch, symbolic of war and peace. This coin is in magnificent condition with sharp feathers, strong cheek bone and a beautiful lter. This coin would be an excellent addition to any coin collection or investment portfolio, as although these coins were originally minted and distributed as currency, these previoly verymon coins turned into a rare find after President Franklin Roosevelt required Americans to turn in their Gold coins to be melted into bars to helpbat the Great Depression.
