Flemish School, 16th Century/Portrait of Baron Von Passchendaele/three-quarter length, wearing a black coat and cap and holding a pair of gloves in his right hand/inscribed upper left Ano 1558 and upper right with a painted crest of a dragon atop a coronet and helmet, with the motto Le Bon Tamps/oil on oak panel, 49.5cm x 38cm/Provenance: from the collection of Harry Wolton QC/see illtration CONDITION REPORT: Some areas of retouching to cheek and forehead. Some retouching to hands. Areas of overpainting to front of doublet and repair to a vertical split down the left side, 7cm in from the frame.
