A Charles I walnut and oak wainscot chair, the arch panel back with profely carved decoration, the scroll arms on plain column supports, the seat later/Note: Much of the carved decoration is characteristic of the Gloucestershire and Somerset region, including the double scroll cresting, the enriched arch in the back panel and the lunette carved seat rails/Literature: see Chinnery 'Oak Furniture: The British Tradition 1979, Fig 4:79 - 4:90 for chairs with related carved decoration.
