A bronze cross pendant with Jes on the cross in typical stavrosis position, the titulum forming a further cross over His head, detailing to his face and garments, spension loop above. Cf. Pitarakis, B., Les Croix-Reliquaires Pectorales Byzantines en Bronze, Paris, 2006, items 7, 75. 9 grams, 41mm (1 3/4"). Family UK collection, since 1980s. UK art market. Property of a Surrey gentleman. A fine example of an iconographic genre ually evident on the enkolpia, here applied to a pectoral cross.
