石叟，明晚期最為著名的冶煉專家和藝術雕塑大師。他繼承了傳統的鑄銅工藝，熟練掌握銅嵌銀絲工藝，善製嵌銀銅器，使銅器製作藝術煥發光彩。所作多為文人雅玩之物，采用嵌銀落款『石叟』二字，多在器物底部，篆隸均有，字體樸拙無俗韻。
