A PALE CELADON JADE ‘BIXIE’, LATE MING DYNASTY China, 16^th to 17^th century. The beast’s ears flicked back, bulging eyes above a ruyi-shaped snout, the open mouth revealing teeth, the paws carved in detail, with a well articulated spine, horn and wings. Fine incision work to legs, tail, mane, eyebrows, and beard. The translucent stone of a pale celadon tone with russet veins, small areas of russet skin and cloudy white inclusions.

Provenance: From a private collection, Massachusetts, USA.
Condition: Excellent condition. The stone with minor nicks to edges, natural inclusions and fissures, some of which may have developed into small hairline cracks over time. Fine, unctuous feel overall.

明末青白玉雕瑞獸避邪擺件
中國，十六至十七世紀。瑞獸挺胸眉目突出，大口微張，頭頂有角，雙耳乖巧地下垂，背部一對翅膀，四肢矯健，後肢股部上有雙鉤深刻出的火焰狀紋。青玉帶沁，光滑柔潤。

品相：狀況極佳。邊緣有輕微刻痕、天然內沁和紋理，其中一些可能隨著時間的推移發展成細小的裂縫。
