An Ottoman gilt-copper (tombak) lidded ewer and basin, Turkey, 17th Century With truncated conical body, high narrow waist with central boss, slender curvaceo spout and handle, exaggerated domical lid with high pine-cone finial, the basin with sloping rim and separate pierced inner cover with raised stand Footnotes: This ewer is slightly more elongated and with a slightly more attenuated boss in the neck than frequently found in tombak examples of the form. Provenance: Ex-private collection, France, since 1985. Similar seen in KOC Meum Ewer Height : 44 cm Bassin Diameter : 32 cm Bassin Height: 13 cm
