Chinese Art A celadon cup China, Ming dynasty (1368-1644) . . Cm 16,50 x 7,00. Elegant heavy-bodied porcelain cup covered by a thick pale green glaze in imitation of jade. The ceramic body, ending with a short everted edge, has no decorative motifs. The sobriety of the lines is typical of the Longquan kilns producion during the 15th century, when the potters, abandoning the "baroque" style of the Yuan period, turned to the sober and essential lines of the clay production during the Song dynasty which are definitely more related to the Chinese tradition.
