此壶又称文竹鼻烟壶，即竹簧，又称“翻黄”、“反黄”或“贴黄”，是江浙一带的竹雕绝技。其工艺为以大型的南竹为材料，用刀劈去竹青和竹肌，仅留下一层薄薄的竹黄片，经过水煮、晾干、压平等工序，然后贴于木胎上再施雕刻。
