Ø30mm, ca. 28g, 18K gold, fantastic blue engine turned enamel, set with rose cut diamonds, back lid and dome signed and numbered, fine lever movement, similar to the Patek Philippe calibre, Geneva stripes, signed especially beautiful enamel dial with blue numerals in golden cartouches, blued steel hands, in working order and in very good condition! David 'Auguste' Golay died in Geneva in 1895 and his sons David 'Louis' Golay and Joseph 'Pierre' Golay took over the business. 'Louis' became a jeweller and representative of the A. Golay-Lereschepany in Paris at 2 rue de la Paix. The son 'Pierre' became a watchmaker and later managed thepany in Geneva. The brothers entered into partner with Edouard Stahl in 1896. Between 1896 and 1906 thepany was renamed Golay Fils & Stahl and then Golay Fils & Stahl Succrs. They also made highly refined Geneva pocket watches alongside the more famous Patek Philippe and Vacheron & Constantin!
