Ca. 30cm high, fire-gilt bronze with numerous silvered figures, full plate movement, half-hour strike, lever escapement, maker's mark LF 3848, signed enamel dial, blued steel hands, outstanding quality, extremely rare, intact. The manufacture of the case must have been extremely time-consuming and costly, as numerous different andplex moulds were required for all the decorations, such as the silver putti, volutes, shells and flowers on the case, or the mermen, mermaids and dolphins surrounding the base. The separate base is incorporated into the overall design and is an integral part of the clock.
