黃中羊 Oil on canvas, 2000, signed to the bottom right corner. Depicting a scene of the Empress Dowager Cixi giving command at the Summer Palace under a theatrical lighting. Painted in a rich, dramatic palette and thick touches of paints. Visible Image: 125 x 166.5 cm (49 1/4 x 65 1/2 in.) Acquired directly from the artist in 2000, receipt available. Note: Huang Zhongyang was an established Chinese Canadian contemporary visual artist settled in Regina, Saskatchewan. Some of Huang's notable achievements include an award from the Government of Saskatchewan: the Commemorative Medal of the Queen of England and Canada, Golden Jubilee. He created the portrait painting of Premier Roy Romanow under the commission of the Government of Saskatchewan. By invitation, sketched a portrait of His Excellence, Raymond Hnatshyn, the Governor General of Canada.
