The painting depicts Chang Jiang river scenery, consists of river, bridge, pagoda, mountains, trees, and boats, artist signature and mark Fu Baoshi on the bottom right.|||Height: 18 1/2 in (47.0 cm) Width: 15 in (38.1 cm)|傅抱石 江景 (片)|款識:傅抱石南京並記。|印:傅(朱文)、古物陳列所國畫研究館日課(朱)|備註:傅抱石(1904年10月5日-1965年9月29日),原名長生、瑞麟,號抱石齋主人。生於江西南昌,祖籍江西新餘,現代畫家。早年留學日本,回國後執教於中央大學。1949年後曾任南京師範學院教授、江蘇國畫院院長等職。擅畫山水,中年創為“抱石皴”,筆致放逸,氣勢豪放,尤擅作泉瀑雨霧之景;晚年多作大幅,氣魄雄健,具有強烈的時代感。人物畫多作仕女、高士,形象高古。是圖為傅抱石在南京時日課小稿,畫幅採取偏角山水構圖, 偏角山水構圖為南宋政權偏安江南時宮廷畫師常用的構圖方法,常取山水,樓臺,水榭,花卉,場景之一角,加以描繪,寫實,表現局部之景,這與南宋政權偏安江南一隅不無關係,彼時戰亂頻繁,政局不顧,偏角山水的構圖,或與國破家亡的境況密切相關。山水畫構圖法,常用高遠、深遠和平遠三法,郭熈總結“三遠”說:“山有三遠,自山下而仰山巔,謂之高遠;自山前而窺山后,謂之深遠;自近山而望遠山,謂之平遠。高遠之色清明,深遠之色重晦;平遠之色,有明有晦。高遠之勢突兀,深遠之意重疊,平遠之意沖融而縹縹緲緲。其人物之在三遠也,高遠者明瞭,深遠者細碎,平遠者沖淡。明瞭者不短,細碎者不長,沖淡者不大。此三遠也。”是圖,採取平遠法,表現南京長江大橋一角,近處的秋木,中腹的江景,遠岸之山景及峻峭的山石,以水墨或濃或淡,或幹濕相宜表現一隅景色。左下角之印或可見作者當時工作之屬。
