Model 1, serial no. 327, with wood case. – Literature: Martin, 1949, p. 126. – The Fitch was one of the most exciting typewriter designs of its time. To improve visible writing, the typebars were placed behind the platen and struck downwards on the paper roller. Only four manufacturers employed this system: Waverley, Brooks, North and Fitch.
