λ A COLLECTION OF CHINESE CARVED IVORY ITEMS. Qing Dynasty, 19th Century. Comprising: a pair of wrist rests, each similarly carved as a fruit with interior hollowed and deeply incised to depict a lady beside two boys and beneath oversized flowering chrysanthemum plants, raised on wood stands incised with mythical beast masks, 16cm long, a tapered ivory vase carved with Magu and raised on an ivory stand, a small figure of a warrior on horseback and an oval canton box and cover carved with dragons, 19cm H. (10) Provenance: an English private collection, acquired in Hong Kong in the 1930s.
