Signed and dated lower right 'S. Chavda 1964'. Shiavax Chavda was born in Navsari, Gujarat. He studied at the Slade School and Academie de la Grande Chamiere, Paris, where he worked alongside Leon Bakst and Picasso in designing the sets for the Diaghelev Ballet. Chavda had a deep assosciation with dance. He used the subject of a dancer in motion to explore the rhythmic aspects of his own compositions.
