拍品造型端正，胎质坚实。外壁通以青花为饰，上部绘“竹马交迎”人物故事图，巡游官员身后跟随仆从，手执仪仗，数名孩童身骑竹马争相迎接，人物神情生动自然，隙地加绘芭蕉远山，腹部满绘缠枝西番莲纹，下部饰蕉叶纹。整器构图疏密得宜，笔触自然流畅，画法精准爽落，青花发色明妍，为明崇祯时期青花佳作。“竹马交迎”源于《后汉书·郭汲传》，郭汲为并州牧时，为人贤德廉明，故而巡游县邑时，沿途无论老幼都在道边逢迎，后多以此称颂官员受民爱戴。
