Excellent carving, wonderful depiction of its face and powerful paws, beautiful patina. The bottom is carved with raised characters,, red seal paste in the grooves. Superb Shoushan soapstone with rich variety of cream/tan/yellowish colors with some red areas and rich veining giving extra depth to the carving. Wonderful object for a scholar’s desk.
