18th century Japanese sword iron tsuba with raised and decoration of a dragon in different attitude on each side. Did not photograph well - it is quite powerful piece. The one of the front is on the ground looking up, its scales finely worked, the one on the back is in flight among clouds: most probably the pair is contesting the posession of the Precious Jewel. Great design, wonderful quality work, eyes are inlaid with gold. Very pleasant feel of age, beautiful waer and patina, in great condition.
