JAPON, Murata Seimin (1761-1837) Brûle-parfum en bronze à 4 médaillons représentants un phénix, une tortue, un dragon et un kilin. Le brûle-parfum à couvercle est posé sur un socle surmonté par 3 dragons. Epaules à décor de 4 trompes d'éléphant avec pendants à tête de chien terminés par un pompon. Le couvercle est surmonté d'un aigle prenant son envol. La pièce est décorée par registres, séparés par des bandes horizontales de swastika. Manque de moustaches aux dragons. H 72.5 cm et diamètre maximal de 32 cm late Edo period, ca. late 18th to early 19th century. An elegant brass brazier, also known as a hibachi, made by the metalsmith Murata Seimin (1761-1837). The bottom has four legs and at the center of the base is a raised 9-character maker mark within a square that includes the artist's name. The vessel has a textured surface that is made up of repeated linear motifs.
