A MASSIVE BRONZE 'ARCHAISTIC' BALUSTER VASE, LATE MING TO EARLY QINGChina, 17th-18th century. Well cast, the baluster sides rising from a short spreading foot to a waisted neck with galleried rim. The rounded shoulder with taotie masks in high relief and four distinct vertical flanges, above confronting dragons divided by smaller flanges, above stiff leaves enclosing confronting phoenixes, all against key-fret and other diapered grounds.
