Two small famille verte plates, Wanli or Tianqi Period, ca. 1620-30, China, One plate with two cockerels and a butterfly, the other of hexagonal form with a contemplating scholar. Both marked with a fu mark in underglaze blue. Both with a brown glazed rim. D 15 and 14,5 cm, The round plate has a few rim chips. The hexagonal plate is slightly warped and has kiln dust in the glaze. No hairlines and no restoration. From a Dutch collection. Bought from Sotheby s Amsterdam (Mak van Waay), on October 8th. 1991 and May 13th. 1987,
