The ‘Lion and Grapevine’ mirror of circular form cast with a central crouching mythical beast knop, encircled by a band of four recumbent lions amongst fruiting grape vines, surrounded by a band with raised decoration of birds, animals and further grape vine, the reverse plain, the stand in the form of a recumbent buffalo with its head turned back. Period: Ming (1368-1644) and mirror possibly Tang (618‑906). Length: 21 cm, diameter: 13.5 cm.
